Zircon is usually brown to green in color but heating it is an oxygen free environment produces a beautiful, dazzling blue color. The stone is known as a spiritual stimulant and can help the magic user in many ways. Zircon is renowned in folklore as an amulet for travelers, which will protect its bearer from injury and disease and ensure a warm welcome, comfortable bed and good food wherever you travel. It is recorded that a person carrying Zircon can never be hit by lightning, but I have not tested this personally and I would not advise anyone else to either!
