Skutterudite

Skutterudite is a sulfide mineral composed of Cobalt and Arsenide, which is mainly used as a minor ore of Cobalt and Nickel. It was first classified in 1945 although drawings of crystals made by Koenig in 1890 and Palache in 1935 may be Skutterudite. The mineral is one of the rarest arsenides and the most important sources of Skutterudite are Skutterud, Norway (from which the mineral gets its name), Bou Azzer in Morocco, Ontario and New Jersey.
